Santa Maria Mayor Larry Lavagnino will retire on Tuesday.
He says some of the biggest accomplishments include the city's new library, the new transit center, two new fire stations, and the Santa Maria River Levee repair.
Lavagnino will attend his last city council meeting Tuesday night.
Mayor-elect Alice Patino will be sworn in as well.
Lavagnino sat down with photojournalist Jason Orr on Monday to reflect on his service? to the city.
